Shiloh Shepherd Friends - This is an SSDCA Inc. approved Public Forum where anyone interested in learning more about these magnificent ISSR dogs can post questions that will be answered by the Breed Founder and her VIB's, as well as many Shiloh owners.  This list is also full of experienced breeders of Shilohs (and non Shilohs), trainers as well as new and future owners to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have. All aspects of finding, raising, training and breeding your present or future Shiloh Shepherd are discussed here openly and honestly.

 

SSDCA - The Shiloh Shepherd Dog Club of America.  The only recognized club for Original Shiloh Shepherd enthusiasts.

 

ISSR - The International Shiloh Shepherd Registry.  The only recognized registry for Shiloh Shepherds.  Shilohs are NOT an AKC breed, nor do we want them to become one.

 

Genetic Task Force - The GTF is a group of Shiloh Shepherd breeders that are working to collect data on genetically transmitted diseases and defects that affect our breed.  Shiloh breeders have always tracked virtues and faults of their dogs, as well as their littermates, but now we are creating an even more comprehensive database that will be used to record data on genetic diseases and defects in our breed.  With this data, we will be able to better determine which lines of dogs are carriers of specific diseases, as well as working with our breeders to eradicate those diseases in future generations.

 

STM - What is it? -  As a comparison, let’s just ask another question.  The Shiloh Shepherd—what is it? When you start comparing the Shiloh Shepherd to the GSD, be it the modern “show dog” or the import, you could literally talk for days and still not cover every detail. STM simply stands for the Shiloh Training Method and just as the GSD is so different from the Shiloh—STM also stands alone!
